The Story

What a journey

We left Maine, a day late, on October 31st. 5 pm.. the "20 hour" trip took a bit longer. first the delay was due to over packing the trailer.. we got up to 40 mph and a swaying she went.. we turned around, got some sleep and repacked the next day.. got rid of alot of stuff in the process.. I just hope it all went to a good home

5 hrs into the trip our trailer got a flat tire.. no biggie right.. except the trailer wheel was a 6 pt.. had to wait till the am for Sears to open. so we slept in a parking lot across from a cemetery on Halloween night in an area where we saw quite a few "thugs"

so the rest of the trip was great.. I was glad we got to see alot of the views.. it was very pretty. the kids did really great.. I was even impressed and I already knew how awesome they are LOL

so we showed up in KY about 1:30 am Sunday morning. I was so tired and my plan was to walk in the house and lay down our blankets and crash

Well I walked into this house and seconds later walked out crying.. Joe thought I was being tired and emotional.. so he walked in to look around.. He soon walked out crying too.. ( pictures posted)

So we were just devastated.. we were now homeless, in a town where we knew no one other than by a phone call or two to a few people.. Not knowing what else to do we drove to our Church and slept what we could in the parking lot.. cramped in the car for the second night in a row..

Just before day break we got up and drove.. we had not yet seen KY in the day light.. we drove out and thru the farmland and watched the sunrise.. How beautiful it was..

As far as the house.. I called the landlord and he just argued with me.. saying he said it was an 'older" home" he told me that several times before I rented it.. I now know "older" means "disgusting" in Kentuckian.. I told him I asked for two things.. Safe and Clean.. to which this was not.. we drove to his house.. a big house in the middle of 200 acres.. He argued with us about refunding our deposit.. we had given him $300 the week before. we spent the day arguing with him etc.. I finally met up with the wife later and she gave me back $150.. I asked her if she was not aware of the condition of the home.. she refused to go inside stating" she had allergies" she wouldnt even look in the window.. So I am writing a letter to them and their attorney ( pictures included) asking them if they truly feel it is worth it to keep my $150.. I told the wife that day I may never see the money.. but they will never get to spend it either.. and I will make sure of that.. the pictures are going up all over the place as of Monday the 24th if I do not have $150..

back to being homeless .. well when you have no place to go you go to where you are loved the most..

WE went to Church.. it was a few hours of no stress.. its amazing how that can be done.. we put the pets and our boxes in the hosue for the night and stayed in a motel.. I was going to give KY one good go on Monday before we went to plan B.. ( drive till the car breaks down and live there) So Monday was spend talking to every person with a rental property... if we even got past the Hi I have 7 kids, the pets were a deal breaker.. ( this is why we had a place before we left Maine..) It was late Monday eve when, with our Bishops help, we talked a lady into renting to us.. So we have an old-- meaning aged- house with big ceilings and hardwood floors. cute backyard and right in town.. walking distance from the park and library... both large and very cool..

I found a job with a local groomer.. I love her.. she and I are alot alike and get along great.. my personality makes being an employee hard, but this works great.. Joe is getting ready to go to school.. he has a few business ideas in play and wants to get some schooling in to make it happen.. he also has a couple of serious partners in line as well.. so this "dream" has more and more credibility as time goes on..

The kids are doing great.. they love it here, although Zachary asked the first few days about going home.. I explained this was home now and he seemed ok with that .

so I think I got it all in.. I hope the pictures work..

  4. That house is in WAY better shape than the home made "shack" you are raising your 10, soon to be 11, kids in now. I'm really surprised that this place made you cry. If I were living in the stick built shack with a tarp for a roof that you are living in now...I would really be crying.
