Zachary painted a Frog. He LOVES Frogs
Isaac's lady bug. the spots are a pencil holder
Abigail made this.. the bowl is for earrings etc.. she did a wonderful job
Quinten also made a lady bug

Family Home Evening 4/6/09

We made page markers. We use these to mark our pages as we go through our FHE lesson. The back of each are artistically designed or have a scripture on them. We distribute them among the kids and I and when the number is called that person reads the verse. It gives everyone a chance to read and we save time by not having to search for scriptures during the lesson.

The kids enjoyed the few days of beautiful weather.. we had flurries today.. I am so confused..
Urijah has "grown up" quite a bit since he started walking.. Along with walking he has learned how to be a clown.. he is always doing things to get a laugh out of people.

Interested in Homeschooling?
First go here HSLDA to find out your states homeschool laws.. remember, they usually arent as bad as the legal terminology makes it sound :)
Then take a stop here Homeschool.com and you can read about the different styles of Homeschooling.. We consider ourselves eclectic unschoolers. we do work books and such but most of our learning is hands on child led learning.
Homeschool World has some great articles. Homeschool Blogger has thousands of bloggers who give a peek into their homeschool world. You do not need to sign up to read.. only to post.
And of course there is I.. I have been "officially" homeschooling since 2003 when Jacob started kindergarten. But at home learning began years before that. I guess you could re-title us. Frugal Eclectic Unschoolers.. as we do it with a very low budget. I post many FREE homeschool resources..
I hope this helps.. Enjoy

April Fools...
So last year I tried to pull a really good April Fools joke on Zachary.. I just knew I had him. I used the Print Screen option and made my Windows page a background page and hid the start Menu.. Then I waited for the right moment and called my then two year old son in so he could use the computer.. foreseeing him clicking away at a non existent start menu. Oh this woudl be good..
What I failed to realize is that my highly intellegent son no longer used the mouse to access the start menu but rather the windows key.. my ingenious plot foiled by a 2 year old..
So this year we had something a bit simpler.. and more fun. About 4 pm Joe asked me about taking the kids to Cici's Pizza for dinner.. the kids cheered and we got ready, loaded up and off we went.
As we pulled into the Walmart parking lot DH said "april fools, no Cici's" as the sigh's rang out they were changed to cheers when Joe annouced we were picking up puppies!
We had found them in an ad on Craigslist. They were strays the lady had found and needed to rehome.. they are about 12 weeks per my estimation.. Both females and no names as of yet
They are kinda shy but warming up.. Simon nor Taylor seem to mind. Taylor has actually been extra careful as she knows she can be a bit testy with dogs esp females.
